Trail Description: Trails are nice and shaded, wide enough to ride side by side, small creek crossing, some hills ( not to steep ) long straight aways. This place is great training for endurance training or gaited horses. Plenty of long straight aways for jogging, trotting and lopeing.

Maddox Horse Camp is primitive only. You must bring your own water. Camp is nicely shaded and level with plenty of trees for picketing. Camping and trail use are free year round for horses. Horses are allowed during hunting season but rider BEWARE! Hunting season for the Park is Nov-Jan 31. But the roads through the park are driveable and very nice to ride. Trail system on the map is about 15 miles, but the nice dirt roads add alot more mileage. For more information call Cynthia Ragsdale for a map of the forest trails. 205-926-9765
